Twinwood 2006

This was Das Heer's first outing at the Twinwood Glenn Miller event in Bedfordshire. Along with other groups we set up on the edge of the wooded area as part of the 'war walks'. Das Heer put on a 'Road to Dunkirk' scenario. Our troops havingrecently captured hastily abandoned British positions in the push to Dunkirk in May 1940. We even 'captured' a BEF straggler who was discovered by one our patrols in the woods. Many thanks to Shane Lowdon, our BEF prisoner who looked fantastic and played the part so well. Also many thanks to the person (unknown) who gave us the use of his Soviet 45mm PAK that we used as a PAK 35/36 37mm.
