Other (Non Heer) WW2 German Photos

Below are some more photos from my collection. This selection includes original photos, a few copies of originals,

postcards and some postwar signed pictures.

A propaganda photo showing Ju 88 bomber crews discussing mission successes

Josef Buerschgens of Jg26 (Schlageter) on his Bf109 who I am led to believe was the first pilot of his

unit to be shot down over England. He survived and was captured.

Hajo Hermann, a nightfighter pilot with 10 victories

Fritz Witt, commander of the Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler in Normandy. He was killed by an allied shell in Normandy.

I believe this picture was taken in France 1940. Seated in the car is Paul Hausser, later commander of the SS Panzerkorps

whilst the Officer with the goggles is Sepp Dietrich, commander of the Leibstandarte Adolf Hilter.

Bismarck photographed from her escort, the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, on manoeuvres in the Baltic.

Signalling from Prinz Eugen to the Bismarck. This is a postcard. However, I have this as a large original framed photo

along with an original framed EK2 certificate, dated 20th April 1941 (on board) to Signalobergefreiten Bernhard Leuthold.

Does anyone know where I can get more information on this sailor?

Bismarck's sister ship, Tirpitz, with its main armanent at high elevation.

The battlecruiser Gneisenau before alterations were made to the bow.

Scharnhorst, sister ship of Gneisenau.

Heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper.

Cruiser Koenigsberg.

Cruiser Leipzig.

A Kreigsmarine honour guard in Ostfriesland present arms to the Admiral. Dated 1939.

Admiral Doenitz, commander of the Kriegsmarine. To his right is U boat 'ace' Otto Kretschmer. The tall Officer to the rear

on the right is Admiral Raeder.

A series of photos depicting Helmut Rosenbaum, commander of U73. Whilst not sinking a great tonnage of allied shipping

he received the Knight's Cross for the sinking of the British escort carrier HMS Eagle in August 1942.

For more information on U boats and their commanders visit Uboat.net via my links page.

Note the rose tree (Rosenbaum) on the front of the conning tower.

Wearing his Knights Cross with his family.

A rare view inside U73.

Engelbert Endrass. Commander of U46 /U567 who sunk 86000 tons of shipping.
